ABOUT US
The Into the Wild Running Festival is a fundraising event to help care for the more than 900 rescued animals that call the Sanctuary home and collect the critical funding that will allow the Sanctuary to continue to rescue animals in need!
Established in 1980, The Wild Animal Sanctuary is a state and federally licensed sanctuary and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our 1,214-acre public access facility is located outside of Keenesburg, Colorado, 30 miles northeast of Denver. We also operate a closed access Refuge in southeastern Colorado, with another 9,752 acres of beautiful forested canyon lands and a 22,450-acre Wild Horse Refuge in northwest Colorado. The Wild Animal Sanctuary currently cares for more than 900 rescued exotic animals and is the largest carnivore sanctuary in the World!
